Irian Jaya Carpet Pythons
Irian Jaya carpert
pythons (Morelia spilota variegata ) are, in our opinion, the most
beautiful of all carpet pythons. Native to Irian Jaya, on the Island
of New Guinea, these pythons are most noted for their dramatic color change
as they mature. Hatchlings leave the egg in shades of red and rust,
but mature to the typical adult coloration in a few years. These
pythons are relatively slender and seldom reach lengths over six feet. |
